Merideth’s Information.

Hello! My name is Merideth Linn Wright, and I am an unabashed francophile. I’ve loved France ever since my mother, a high school French teacher, took me and a group of friends to Paris when I was 16 years old. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to live in a French speaking city, Montreal, where I immersed myself in the language as much as possible (while simultaneously studying Russian literature at McGill University, but that is another story), and attend a French language camp at Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji. However, the opportunity in my life that has most contributed to my complete adoration of France and its language and culture was when I was selected to work as an interpreter at a French Air Base in the south of France, just outside of Marseille, for a handful of Americans that were launching airplanes out of there during the Kosovo conflict. I only returned to the United States after that extraordinary gig because, well, the US Air Force insisted that I do so, and they tend to get what they want.

Since that time, however, I have made it a point to be in my beloved France as often as possible, to include a semester with my family in the Burgundy region (my version of a language immersion for my children, whom I homeschooled for much of their education), leading an art workshop in Arles in the fall of 2022 for a lovely group of ladies, and heading up a retreat for yet another wonderful group in the fall of 2024. I’m always ready to share my love for the art, history, culture, language, and of course food (and wine) with more like-minded individuals!

Come with me and step into the sights, smells, tastes and joyous sounds of la vie française...

A bientôt!
